The Future of Work

In the Eleventh and Twelfth grade, I had a class period that I worked in the Guidance office and peer mediated and tutored. This is helpful to me because I plan to become a High School Guidance Councilor. This used the computer on a daily bases and that got my typing skills up.

Journal Entry 1

Quote
What if, indeed. After studying the matter, Ms. Davidson concluded, “Online blogs directed at peers exhibit fewer typographical and factual errors, less plagiarism, and generally better, more elegant and persuasive prose than classroom assignments by the same writers.”

Response

I choose this quote because I agree with it completely. Blogs have spell check and check for poor grammar. Blogs also go to students peers as well as professors so students feel the need to make them better and actually try to give a honest opinion that is their own out of fear of being judged or made fun of not just for fear of being caught committing plagiarism. It also gives them a way to show themselves and help them explain there ideas threw things like videos, pictures, and pod casts on top of being interactive.

I think that this Video explains into more detail why blogs are a good tool to teach students.

I am a Criminal Justice and Psychology major with a minor in Education. I plan to get my masters in Counselling at WVU so I can work as a High School Counselor! I think every student learns differently. Some can learn by repatriation or use memory devises. I like to work with students using memory triggers because even if they do not learn that way they may remember things if they relate to their lives.
